UK CHART: 505’s Zumba dethrones Crysis 2

505 Games’ Zumba is the UK’s No.1 video game this week.

Although seeing a week-on-week decline in sales after shooting to No.2 last week, the fitness game’s weekly sales still outstripped those of EA’s Crysis 2, last week’s No.1.

Sales of Zumba were down 49 per cent, but Crysis 2 was down 57 per cent. It was a quiet week for new releases, and market analysis from data monitor GfK Chart-Track suggest the hot weather will have impacted sales.

Nevertheless, the Zumba hit is a boon for 505 – it’s the firm’s first No.1. The publisher has built it’s reputation on everygreen, strong sellers such as Cooking Mama, and the new fitness game is shaping up to be another regular seller.

It’s the first fitness game to hit the top spot since Wii Fit Plus in 2009.

Elsewhere in the chart, EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters has managed to climb the chart, despite a 32 per cent fall in sales, up to No.4. It didn’t manage to outsell No.3, Lego Star Wars III: Clone Wars.

EA has three games in the top five, with Shift 2 taking No.5.

The full top 20 is as follows:
