Rez Infinite will be a PlayStation VR launch title

The launch of PlayStation VR will be bolstered by the day one presence of a fan favourite.

Developer Enhance Games has confirmed that Rez Infinite will be a launch title for the device on October 13th.

Rez Infinite was announced last December. It’s a reworking of the original running at 1080p and 60fps and also features new areas not seen in previous iterations. It will be playable to non-VR owners, too, and supports 7.1 audio surround.

Rez was first released in 2002 on both PS2 and Dreamcast. It was the creation of Tetsuya Mizuguchi, whose previous titles included Space Channel 5 and Sega Rally. The game was subsequently re-released as an HD remaster in 2008 on Xbox 360.

This will be the first title to be released by Enhance Games since it was founded by Mizugushi.

Sony has previously said that there will be 50 titles released in PSVR’s ‘launch window’. It’s not yet known how many will be available on day one.

In March it was confirmed that PSVR will cost 349.99. The October 13th release date was announced at E3.
