Rufus Hound hosting the Develop Awards

Comedian Rufus Hound will host this year’s Develop Industry Excellence Awards.

Hound is an upcoming star on the live circuit, and has a permanent seat on panels for TV shows Celebrity Juice and Argumental – although he is perhaps best known for his entertaining parody of Cheryl Cole for Sport Relief.

He previously hosted the 2009 MCV Industry Excellence Awards.

Hound’s signing follows news that global graphics giant Autodesk has signed up as exclusive drinks sponsor for the July event.

The only peer-voted awards for the UK and European games industry, the Develop Awards are this year taking place on July 14th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton.

Over 500 industry execs will attend to see key prizes like Best New IP and Best Independent Studio – along with new prizes like Best Micro Studio and Best New Download IP – handed out.

Lobbying for the event has now closed, but early bird rates on tickets and tables are still open – until June 7th – and offer discounts as big as 500 on tables and 25 per cent on seats.

To book your place at the event contact Kathryn.Humphrey@intentmedia.co.uk, or download the booking form – which can be downloaded here.

There are a number of promotional possibilities at the event that include category and award sponsorship. Contact Katie.Rawlings@intentmedia.co.uk for more information on how you can get involved.

Finalists for the awards are announced in June 3rd.
