SEGA confirms interest in acquiring THQ talent

With THQ Studio Australia in Brisbane is closing its doors, SEGA Studios Australia is now looking at avenues for providing opportunities for former THQ staff.

Currently, a position is available for a studio Art Director and a Senior Engine Programmer at the Brisbane-based studio, but SEGA Studios Australia has confirmed to MCV that they will be exploring options with SEGA executives to recruit for other positions.

Marcus Fielding, Studio Director at SEGA Studios Australia, told MCV: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of yet another great Australian developer, and are sorry to see THQ’s studios close their doors after so many years of game development."

"We will be speaking to the SEGA executives to explore our short term hiring strategy to reflect the sudden influx of talent in Australia. We hope to be able to announce the potential for taking on more staff soon."

SEGA Studios Australia is now the largest development studio in Brisbane.
