Six Ubisoft games heading to Vita

GAMESCOM: Assassin’s Creed, Rayman Origins and Michael Jackson: The Experience are just some of the big games Ubisoft has planned for PS Vita.

The publisher will also release Lumines, Asphalt and Dungeon Hunter Alliance for the device, as well as a number of new IP not yet revealed.

PlayStation Vita is the spiritual successor to the PSP and will hit UK shelves some time next year. The device will launch in Japan later this year.

With its processing power, dual tactile screens and cameras, PS Vita allows creators like Ubisoft new and unique opportunities to develop innovative games,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. We’ve got a strong and varied line-up that will offer fun and immersion to all audiences of the PS Vita.”

SCEE VP of publisher and developer relations Zeno Colao added: We’re delighted with the support and innovative content Ubisoft is bringing to PS Vita.

Great games are at the platform’s heart and with some of Ubisoft’s biggest and best brands coming to PS Vita, we are very excited to work with them in delivering the deepest gaming experience on the most powerful handheld entertainment system on the planet.”

Like its plans for Vita, Ubisoft also announced it will heavily back Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U console. The publisher confirmed at least five games for the system including new FPS IP Killer Freaks.
