SK Gaming takes the CS:GO title at IEM Sydney

Brazilian esports outfit SK Gaming has won the inaugural Counter-Strike: Global Offensive IEM Sydney title.

This win is their second win in three weeks after the team also snagged the win at cs_summit, with the double providing the first titles for the team since they rounded off a Major double at ESL One Cologne last July.

For SK Gaming, it’s another step to cementing their reputation as one of the best CS:GO teams in the world. They won the last match against FaZe Clan in a 3-1 victory across Train, Cache, Inferno and Overpass, with SK winning every map but Inferno.

FaZe’s two carries — Rain and Niko — did stellar work stopping SK from completely rampaging through the team, clawing back several rounds when hope looked lost. Despite strong performances however, FaZe weren’t quite enough to stop SK, who take home $100,000 for their first place win.
