Sony licenses 1,000 indie studios for PlayStation platforms

PlayStation’s self-publishing initiative has signed on more than 1,000 indie developers, Sony has announced.

A new post on the Playstation US blog reveals the number, adding that more than 100 self-published titles are coming to PS4 this year.

[PS4’s] amazing lineup is made possible by the development community, who have been hard at work with our hardware, already pushing it to do things that we never expected,” SCEA’s Adam Boyes wrote.

Recently we reached a significant milestone with more than 1,000 developers licensed globally to self-publish on our platforms, 200 of those licensed in North America since PS4 was unveiled in February 2013.”
