Sony has expressed its pride after sweeping last week’s 2010 GAME BAFTAs, picking up awards for Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet and Flower.
The PS3 manufacturer took a total of six awards – more than any other company – with four going to Uncharted, which topped the Action, Story, Score and Use of Audio categories.
Sony also received the Handheld award for LittleBigPlanet and Artistic Achievement for critically acclaimed PSN title Flower – with the latter deemed to be the most touching award”.
We are delighted to have received six awards at this year’s BAFTA video game awards,” Sony’s head of PR David Wilson told MCV.
For Uncharted 2 to be the recipient of four awards is fantastic – obviously Uncharted was our big hitter at the end of last year and Naughty Dog really delivered in spades.
LittleBigPlanet PSP was a terrific conversion of the brilliant PS3 IP from Media Molecule and Sony Studio Cambridge did a great job on that one.
Arguably one of the most touching awards was for Flower. Created by That Game Company, Flower is a really beautiful little game, which perhaps wasn’t an obviously choice for such a high profile award.
A big thank you to BAFTA and to all the judges for giving us these prestigious accolades. It’s a great start to what we hope will be another great year for PlayStation.”
