Taking place on Friday May 11th at the Facebook offices in Rathbone Square, London, the Women in Games Awards 2018 celebrate the hardest-working, the biggest achieving, and the downright most brilliant women in the UK games industry.

Janet Walker, Splash Damage’s senior HR manager, said about the sponsorship: “It’s a privilege to sponsor the Women in Games Awards and it’s especially meaningful this year as we’re proud to have two inspirational Splash Damage employees in the running. Here at Splash Damage we’re committed to providing an inclusive environment for generations to come, and supporting an organisation that makes a real impact towards this is important to us as we help to set the stage for equality in the video games industry.”

Mark Morris, Splash Damage’s President, added: “Games provide the best entertainment in the world, so we should ensure we’re creating a professional culture that is inclusive of everyone. As a father of a teenage daughter, I feel like I’d fail her if we didn’t encourage this industry to embrace more women in its ranks. At Splash Damage we’re challenging stereotypes every step of the way and sponsoring the Rising Star of the Year award is a source of pride as we continue to promote equality.”

This year’s categories include Rising Star of the Year – Development Award, Creative Impact Award, Rising Star of the Year – Business Award, Businesswoman of the Year, Esports Woman of the Year, Career Mentor of the Year and Outstanding Contribution. We also have three new categories this year: Journalist of the Year, Influencer of the Year and Games Campaigner of the Year. You can have a look at our 2018 shortlist right here.
