Star Citizen smashes $100m in crowdfunding

The inevitable has happened: Star Citizen has now raised more than $100m through crowdfunding.

According to the game’sFunding Goals page, more than 1m backers have pledged towards the game since Cloud Imperium Games began raising money three years ago.

More than $30m has been raised in 2015 alone, much of which has been generated by the sale of virtual goods such as in-game ships.
