Team 17 hires Sam Forrest as PR director

Industry veteran Sam Forrest has joined indie publisher Team 17 as its PR director.

Forrest has held a number of PR roles over his 20-year career in the games industry.

At RuneScape company Jagex he was VP of communications, and before that he spent nine years at THQ in a number of communcation roles.

Recently he has been working as a freelance PR for the likes of indie publisher Versus Evil.

In his newly created role at Team 17, Forrest will oversee the publisher’s global PR activities.

This appointment is the latest in a line-up of high-profile hires from Team 17. At the end of 2014, Microsoft’s Chris Eden and Get Games Go’s Harley Homewood joined the publisher in senior business development roles.

Meanwhile, former Capcom strategic marketing director Mickey Torode joined as marketing and commercial director.

As our label of amazing and talented indie developers grow, so must the pedigree and experience of our senior marketing and commercial management team,” MD Debbie Bestwick said.

We are about to embark on a long and exciting journey of growth and global expansion and strong, experienced personalities such as Mickey, Chris, Harley and Sam are exactly what we need to make this happen."
