Theme Park returns with free-to-play iOS game

Electronic Arts is reviving the classic Theme Park series as a freemium game on iPhone and iPad this year.

Also simply titled Theme Park, the game app will be a brand new entry in the long-running series. It will feature a 3D engine and touch-screen controls, according to Digital Spy.

There will also be free-to-play elements. Players use in-game currency to upgrade their rides and staff, and can purchases additional currency to accelerate their progress and unlock more advanced rides.

Theme Park will also feature rides and attractions based on other EA properties, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Dead Space.

The new game will be available for iPhone and iPad by the end of the year, and will feature cloud storage for game progress using EA’s social network Origin.
