Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater confirmed for 2015 return

Activision will be releasing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 later this year.

That’s according to this month’s Game Informer, which reveals that the skating title will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 SKUs to follow.

The title is being developed by Chicago-based Robomodo, the studio behind Tony Hawk: Ride, Shred and Pro Skater HD, and Disruptive Games, who have contributed to Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One and Lost Planet 3.

According to the Game Informer piece, this game is a return to the original Tony Hawk’s games, but includes new additions like power-ups and projectiles in some levels. Since 2002’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, the series has dabbled with motion controls and mobile games.

As well as the titular character, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 also features a number of new skaters includingNyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair and Riley Hawk.

This follows Tony Hawk himself saying that he is working on a console game for 2015, and a leaked photo featuring the game’s logo.
