Turner Broadcasting will launch eSports league next year

American basic cable channel TBS has announced it will air multiple Counter-Strike: Global Offensive matches next year.

The Wall Street Journalreports Turner Broadcasting has signed a deal to launch its own eSports league, and is set to broadcast Counter-Strike: Go competitions on Friday nights for 20 weeks in 2016.

Qualifying rounds for the 20 main events will be streamed online, with victorious teams receiving tickets to TBS headquarters in Atlanta for a live recording.

TBS isn’t the first cable network to show interest in eSports. ESPN began its search for aneSports editorearlier this month, and has previously broadcastHeroes of the StormandDota 2events.
