Twitch and Next Generation eSports partner to produce the Rocket League Championship Series

Next Generation eSports and Twitch have partnered in order to produce the Rocket League Championship Series.

The competition will be streamed on Twitch, who are working with Rocket League developer Psyonix, to build the community and infrastructure to foster long-term growth for Rocket League. The new partnership with Next Generation eSports will see the eSports company produce the event, from the NGE studios in Burbank, California. They will also bring features such as live replays and storyline-enhancing show graphics to improve the production quality.

$75,000 is on the line in the competition and that has enticed over 20,000 players to sign up, resulting in a tournament featuring a whopping 6,112 teams split across North America and Europe. The first week of qualifiers for the event brought in over 300,000 viewers, proving that Rocket League has the potential to become one of the biggest eSports in the world.

As we’ve seen by the overwhelming response, Rocket League is a game with a vibrant community and unparalleled competitive potential,” said Justin Dellario, Senior Esports Program Manager, Twitch. We chose NGE as our production partner because they deliver a high level of entertainment and competition for both players and spectators. We know fans will love what they see.”

Next Generation Esports was built by a team of esports veterans whose goal is to find the most ambitious esports partners and elevate their leagues to the next level of production, engagement, and competition,” said Andy Vander Woude, CEO, NGE. We’re excited to further Twitch’s commitment to Rocket League as a game and community, and innovate the player and spectator experience to fit the unique game Psyonix has built.”
