Ubisoft has announced fourth quarter and full year financial results for its fiscal calendar, reporting significant revenue increases in nearly every division.
Full year sales totaled €1.26bn, up 18.4 per cent versus the €1bn earned in 2012. Q4 sales reached €175m, showing an 8.7 per cent year-over-year growth.
Ubisoft broke the revenue numbers down further, stating €928m came from games directed at core gamers (up 60 per cent YOY), and €328m from casual games.
The latter figure represents a 32 per cent dip for the category, and only accounts for 26 per cent of total sales after making up for 46 per cent in 2012.
The publisher attributed the overall success to the performances of Assassin’s Creed III, Just Dance 4 and Far Cry 3.
Assassin’s Creed III has sold over 12.5m copies between retail and digital versions, while Just Dance 4 has moved 8.5m units.
Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance have joined the prestigious club of the 20 best-selling brands for the current generation of consoles, ranking fifth and twelfth respectively. This performance was achieved thanks to high quality levels and regular releases –two key characteristics found in each of the highest-performing brands in this console cycle,” said Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot.
