UKIE’s Twist wins Outstanding Contribution gong at Women in Games Awards

The winners of this year’s Women in Games Awards have been revealed.

UKIE’s Dr Jo Twist walked away with the Outstanding Contribution prize, following a video from her industry colleagues praising her many achievements and huge impact on the UK games market.

Meanwhile, the Businesswoman of the Year prize went to Team17’s Debbie Bestwick, and Campaigner was awarded to Kirsty Payne of Special Effect.

Winning the Creative Impact achievement was Siobhan Reddy of LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway studio Media Molecule.

Sony London’s Karen Stanley won the Rising Star Prize, while Unsung Hero went to Tanya Laird, director of Digital Jam.

The event was co-hosted by MCV and the Women in Games (WIGJ) organisation and saw the Top 30 Women in Games honoured, whilst naming the winners of six special awards.
