Unity backs Indie Zone at video games marketplace Interface

Video games technology giant Unity has backed MCV and Develop’s new B2B content marketplace event Interface.

Interface takes place on May 14th in London, and is designed to allow developers to showcase their games, find investors and pitch ideas.

A potent mix of affordable demo space and a business matchmaking system means a number of studios and publishers are already signed to take part.

Unity has stepped up to sponsor the Indie Zone in the exhibition, ensuring that there is affordable and free access to the event for smaller businesses.

"We are incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Interface", said Andy Brammall, Regional Sales Director at Unity.

"At Unity we provide developers with the tools and know how to build innovative content on a myriad of platforms. For our developers though, this is only part of the process – they need help with discovery, monetisation and funding of projects. Through our partnership with Interface we will take this one step further as this event gives developers a platform to be introduced to publishing contacts and new potential sources of funding.”

MCV and Develop publisher Michael French added: We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to Interface – the UK games industry is crying out for a content marketplace event, and a place to connect creators with potential new partners. Unitys backing is proof we’re on the right course and were very happy to have them on board."

More partners and exhibitors will be announced shortly.

Sponsorship includes exhibition space, access to the B2B meeting/pitching service and prominent exposure.

Interface will connect indies, start-ups and creators of new games with investors and backers – there are also planned breakout sessions on topics like better business practices, areas for studios looking to recruit, plus networking and lounge spaces. Prices to take part in Interface start at just 49. Registration for walk-in delegates opens in March – with some free tickets for small studios of up to four staff.

Interface takes place on Thursday, May 14th at the Candid Arts Trust, a creative arts space in London next door to Angel tube station.
