Until Dawn has been censored in Japan

A particularly gory scene in new PS4 title Until Dawn has been omitted from the Japanese version of the game.

The grizzly demise of the game’s cast is hardly a rare occurrence in the slash-flick spoof, but the death of Josh in particular has proved too much for Japanese authorities, with the scene cutting to a blank before the gory moment.

Of course, the nature of the game – where a player’s choice alters the narrative and dictates who does and does not die – means for some gamers, no matter where in the world, the scene may not feature regardless.

The original version of the scene, as is seen in the UK and other versions of the title, can be seen in the video below. Obviously be warned, however, that this is very much not safe for work or minors:
