UPDATE: Minecraft arriving on PS4 and Xbox One this week

Smash-hit indie title Minecraft is to make its next-gen debut this week.

A listing for the game on PSN seems to suggest that the game will at last be released on PS4 when the store is updated in Europe tomorrow. A Vita release is expected to follow shortly, too.

Microsoft has also confirmed that the game will be released on Xbox One this Friday. Both versions have a US price of $19.99, while on Xbox at least owners of the Xbox 360 version will be able to upgrade to the next-gen title for $4.99.

Plus, any existing Xbox 360 maps and previously purchased DLC can be carried over.

It’s probably that all this functionality will be seen on PlayStation too but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to know for sure.

It’s not yet known when the boxed versions of either title will be released in the UK.

UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed that Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will cost 15.99 in the UK, with an upgrade option for 3.99.
