UPDATE: Physical release for FIFA World Cup game on PS3 and Xbox 360

EA has at last announced EA Sports 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

However, the surprise is that the game is getting a physical release and is only scheduled for PS3 and Xbox 360.

In June last year EA Sports boss Andrew Wilson described its digital-only Euro 2012 expansion for FIFA 12 as "a little ahead of its time quite frankly” adding that "we didn’t get the take up that we thought we would at that moment in time, although things picked up later when we lowered the price. We may have got the value proposition a little off.”

This release will offer improvements over the FIFA 14 build including 100 new animations and a new World Class Control feature. 203 national teams are featured with 7,469 players, 19 officially licensed managers and 12 authentic Brazilian stadiums.

UPDATE: EA has offered the following statement regarding the lack of next-gen release.
