UPDATED: Simply Games customers get Black Ops II early

(This story has been updated – headline was originally ‘Simply Games tells customers they can have Black Ops II by tomorrow’. Updates at end of article.)

Online indie retailer Simply Games is currently telling customers that they will have Call of Duty: Black Ops II in their hands by tomorrow (Saturday November 10th) if they order the game by this afternoon.

Black Ops II is released worldwide next Tuesday (November 13th).

Orders placed before 4.30pm today will be dispatched today for likely delivery via Royal Mail tomorrow or Monday,” the retailer’s Facebook page is telling customers.

Express orders will be guaranteed Monday delivery.”

The game’s order page on the Simply Games website also carries a bold Play it TOMORROW!!” banner.

Online retailers are no strangers to selling games a little early, with many routinely getting Friday releases in their hands of their customers on the Wednesday of the week of release.

But being so open about it and actively selling on the promise is rare, and will likely irk both rival retailers and quite possibly suppliers.

MCV is attempting to reach Simply Games management for comment.

UPDATE 1: MCV has been able to successfully order a copy of the game and has already received a shipping confirmation email.

UPDATE 2: Simply Games has now removed its Facebook update teasing Saturday delivery and changed thePlay it TOMORROW!!” banner on the game’s order page to "Despatched within 24 hours". MCV is yet to hear back from the retailer.

UPDATE 3:Simply Games customers (including MCV’s test order) have received the game this morning.
