The rumours were true – the next title from Platinum Games is based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Some think of the heroes in a half shelf as a ‘90s phenomena, but in truth they’ve never really gone away. Recent successes have included the actually really, really good animated Nickelodeon series and the Michael Bay live-action film, a sequel to which is also on the way.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan features four-player online co-op and a story by Tom Waltz, of IDW Comics’ TMNT fame. The art style is quite striking, too, blending the most recent cartoon and Bay more nostril-heavy designs.
The game is due out on PS4, Xbox One and PC this summer. It’s published by Activision.
Platinum last year surprised the world by not only releasing a game based on the Transformers licence, but also making it rather good. That was an Activision game, too.
