Virtuos opens new offices in Canada and South Korea

Singaporean development and production studio, Virtuos, has announced it is expanding with new offices in Montreal and South Korea. The company says these new offices will “allow Virtuos to better serve its broad and growing range of clients in the North America and EMEA markets” and be “closer to their partners across the globe”.

Consequently, the studio has also taken on a number of senior appointments, including former Ubisoft Montreal production manager David Cheung who will serve as co-development success manager. Described as “a foundational member of the company’s new Montreal presence”, Cheung will work alongside colleagues Mike Sherak in San Francisco and Scott Paterson in Vancouver, under the leadership of Jake Digennaro, Virtuos’ business development director of North America.

The Virtuos Seoul office, on the other hand, will be headed up by Philippe Angely, senior director of business development in Europe and Asia. Seoul joins the “list of cities” he oversees, including Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo and Singapore. He’ll be joined by business development manager Sangwon Suh.

Virtuos was founded in 2004 and currently employs 1600 full-time staff across the world at sites in Singapore, China, Vietnam, Canada, France, Japan, South Korea, Ireland and the United States. Specialising in game development and 3D art production for triple-A development, Virtuos has delivered “high-quality content for more than 1,300 projects for partners in “18 of the top 20 digital entertainment companies worldwide”.
