Reports have emerged which claim Sony will at some stage release a firmware update for PS3 that will allow the upcoming PlayStation Vita to stream any game from the system.
Eurogamer reports that for back-catalogue titles Vita will only be able to display a resolution of 480×272, though this will be upscaled to fit Vita’s 960×544 OLED screen.
Future titles, however, titles will have the option of including 480p playback.
Games that utilise buttons found on a Dualshock 3 pad but not on the Vita will be capable of adding these missing functions as on-screen buttons.
It is presumed that a wi-fi connection will be required to use the functionality, and n owner’s PS3 will have to be set up to allow for users to activate the console remotely.
