Wii Fit U retail launch delayed

Nintendo has pushed back the release of Wii Fit U for a second time.

The fitness title was originally set to hit UK retail on December 6th, but Nintendo has now announced via Twitter the game will launch one week later on December 13th.

Originally scheduled to launch in the first half of 2013, the game was pushed back to December to allow additional features to be included within the title.

Wii Fit U is available now as a free trial download, offering players 31 days of gameplay.

But consumers looking to unlock the full version will have to hold out until December 13th to do so, as the only way to lift this time restriction is by synching a Fit Meter to the game.

Two SKUs of Wii Fit U will launch at retail. The first of these includes the game along with the Fit Meter, while another will provide fitness enthisiasts with everything they need: game disc, Fit Meter and Wii Balance Board.

The full version of Wii Fit U will also be available as a digital download from the Nintendo eShop from February 1st.
