WiiMusic takes to the podium

It’s been in the works for a while, and now Nintendo has finally unveiled Wii’s much discussed music game, which is titled, perhaps unsurprisingly, WiiMusic.

Whether or not it is the same game, or an evolution of, the title Shigeru Miyamoto famously played at Nintendo’s E3 press conference in 2006 is still unknown – at the time it was referred to as Wii Orchestra.

Either way, this new title uses the motion-sensing Wii Remote and the Nunchuck to allow players to control either an entire band or a single instrument. In total 40 instruments are expected to appear in the game.

It is due out in Japan, and presumably Europe too, next year.
