Windows 8 embraces Xbox Live

Microsoft is to include the firm’s Xbox Live gaming platform in the upcoming Windows 8 according to a Seattle Times report.

Microsoft interactive entertainment marketing chief Mike Delman told the Seattle Times in an interview that Xbox Live will be "built into the PC" and that online service will be "the pervasive media service across devices."

The software giant has moved to offer the Xbox Live online service as a group of services with games and online media such as streaming music and movies.

The firm has moved to make Xbox Live available on Windows Phone 7 smartphone OS but Delman’s comments confirm that Microsoft will look to pushing Xbox Live out to PC as well, possibly starting with Windows 8.
