The Xbox One has sold more units in the United States than the PS4 for the third month in a row.
NPD sales numbers, which Microsoft announced, say that the Xbox One was the best selling console in the States for July, August and September. The full NPD report will be available in the next week or so.
With the Xbox One S model launching right at the start of August the results aren’t all that surprising, especially when you factor in the multiple price cuts Microsoft made to the console just before the uptick in sales occurred.
What is surprising however is that this is the first time that the Xbox One outsold the PS4 for three months in a row in the US.
Big thanks for making @xbox best selling US console 3rd month in a row from @npdgroup. 1st time this gen we have won 3 consecutive months! π

Chances are that three months might be the best that Xbox One manages to do for a while, as the PS4 Slim and PSVR both launched over recent weeks, which should give Sony’s console an uptick in sales. With the PS4 Pro also set to launch next month it could be another rough few months for Microsoft in terms of console sales.
