Xbox UK business lead, Harvey Eagle, promoted to global marketing role

Harvey Eagle, previously Xbox business lead for the UK and Ireland, has been promoted to a global role.

Eagle is now director for Xbox Live product marketing, placing him in charge of overseeing growth for Xbox Live across the world. Alongside that, he’ll be working closely with the product engineering, marketing and business development teams in a bid to bring new features and services to Xbox.

Presumably, this will tie into future endeavours for Xbox while we continue to wait for more details on its next-gen console plans with the latest rumours suggesting that the new Xbox may arrive in late 2020.

Harvey Eagle first joined Microsoft in 2000, initially working in a series of EMEA roles, as well as working on marketing for the launch of the original Xbox. For the past 6 years, he’s worked as business lead for UK and Ireland. Before working at Microsoft, Eagle spent 10 years in the music industry as a talent scout, being responsible for signing The Prodigy to their first US record deal and Moby to his first major label deal.

“It’s been a privilege to lead the Xbox business in the UK and Ireland for the past six years,” said Eagle. “I’m excited to take on a global remit to grow one of the most valuable communities we have in Xbox Live.”

He will start in the new role on November 1st, and will report to Ben Decker, general manager for gaming services marketing.
