343 Industries delays Halo spin-off Spartan Strike to focus on Master Chief Collection issues

Touch-based Halo spin-off title Spartan Strike has been delayed until early 2015.

Developer 343 Industries said on Halo Waypoint that the game was pushed back so that it could focus on resolving the matchmaking issues facing Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

343 has released a plethora of updates for the Master Chief Collection to confront the online problems the game has been suffering.

Spartan Strike was originally slated for release onWindows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Steam onDecember 12th.

"While we’re excited about this all-new Halo experience [Spartan Strike], our commitment to resolving the current matchmaking issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remains the top priority.As a result, we have decided to move the release ofHalo: Spartan Striketo early 2015," 343 said on Waypoint.

The game is the follow-up to last year’s Spartan Assault, originally released for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Steam. Xbox One and 360 versionsfollowed shortly after
