3DS carts have 8GB capacity

Taiwan tech firm Macronix has been drafted in to manufacture the cartridges for Nintendo's 3DS, consumer blog Kotaku reports.

Furthermore, the site claims that the cartridges will boast a capacity of 8GB - putting them firmly in Xbox 360 territory when it comes to the amount of data that a single disc/cart game can offer.

Current DS cartridges have a 512MB storage limit.

However, Kotaku claims to have heard rumours that Nintendo will put a 2GB limit on 3DS games, as well as a minimum requirement of 1GB.
