48% of Brits think 3D is too expensive

A survey from the UK arm of retailer Best Buy has claimed that 48 per cent of Brits still feel that home-based 3D tech is too expensive.

TechRadar reports that in addition, just 16 per cent have ever experienced 3D technology in the home, though 70 per cent have had some hands-on time with 3D in one form or another.

"With the popularity of big blockbusters such as Avatar, people may believe that to achieve an effective 3D experience they need to spend thousands of pounds on 3DTVs and equipment," Best Buy UK’s head of home theatre and entertainment Rob Wilkins stated.

"We have looked at all of the entertainment products we offer and actually found that prices are very similar to HDTVs, we encourage consumers to take this on board when thinking of buying a new TV so that they get the most out of their technology investment."

In total 2,000 people were polled.
