Amazon to begin Sunday deliveries

Online retailer Amazon is to start offering Sunday delivery to its customers.

VentureBeat reports that the company has struck a deal with the USPS (United States Postal Service), marking the first time the organisation has agreed to Sunday deliveries.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can order a backpack for your child on Friday and be packing it for them Sunday night,” Amazon’s VP of worldwide operations Dave Clark stated.

We’re excited that now every day is an Amazon delivery day and we know our Prime members, who voraciously shop on Amazon, will love the additional convenience they will experience as part of this new service.”

The Sunday delivery program will begin rolling out in the US in 2014.

UPDATE:The Wall Street Journal suggests that Sunday deliveries will also be coming to London.
