Aqua Blue Vita confirmed for US

Sony has announced that a rather fetching Aqua Blue version of its PlayStation Vita handled is to be released in the US.

The $199.99 device will be exclusive to GameStop, which is already taking pre-orders. It’s the first time the slim version of the machine has been available in any colour other than black in the US.

We’re still lumbered with just the black machine in the UK too, by the way, and there’s no word yet on this blue SKU – or any other variant – arriving on these shores anytime soon.

The Aqua Blue machine is coming to Japan, too, along with Neon Orange and Glacier White variants. Japan is already home to a respectable assortment of slim colours, anyway, including Lime Green, Light Blue and Pink, all of which can be had with both the white and black machines.

Two new Vita bundles are heading the UK later this month and next, although both are limited to the black console.

The slimmed down version of the PlayStation Vita was announced in 2013 and arrived in the UK in February of last year.
