Title:General sales manager
Location:UK – South
As Gem Distribution's general sales manager, you will have overall P&L responsibility for the financial performance of all sales divisions except the Business Development Division team.
You will be expected to undertake a comprehensive review of all current sales skills and procedures, identify areas of concern and suggest solutions for improvement. This process will require you to establish a close working relationship with the divisional managers and other commercial teams within Gem.
You will be expected to attend monthly divisional R&O meetings to present a thorough review of the trading month and to descriptively layout a strategy for achieving budgets for the month and quarter ahead.
In conjunction with the Sales Director, you will be expected to maintain high level contacts with all key accounts and to recommend, implement and administer methods and procedures for improving service levels and increasing year on year profitability.
In summary, your supervisory remit will involve targeting, monitoring, measuring and reviewing the performance of the Divisional Managers for National Accounts (including the Catalogue Team), Leisure and Business Divisions. You will be required to implement regular appraisals and to analyse account and employee conduct and capability throughout a given period, summarising these findings to the Sales Director and suggesting ways of improving our overall offering.
