Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag app headed to tablets

Ubisoft has announced its Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag companion app.

This primarily functions as a second screen allowing gamers to set waypoints and see enemies that are out of range of the in-game minimap.

Hand drawn treasure maps found around the world are also stored on the player's tablets.

Ships captured and added to Kenway's fleet in the game can be controlled from the app too – they can be sent on trading missions so players can make a little extra cash while playing. Also available are Animus Database entries that have been unlocked in the main game.

The app is available for free on iPads and Android tablets.
