One of the most remarkable development stories is at last in the hands of gamers following today’s UK release of No Man’s Sky.
The game hit the US yesterday (August 9th) and will arrive on Steam on Friday (August 12th).
Hello Games boss Sean Murray has via Twitter this morning revealed that gamers have already locked up over 10m species discoveries – which perhaps makes it fortuitous that the PC version will run off separate servers, meaning there will be some new beasts left for players to unmask on Friday.
A promotional video starring UK comic Bill Bailey has also been released by PlayStation Access – you can check that out below.
Were that not enough, Elon Musk – of SpaceX, Tesla Motors and OpenAI fame – has also tweeted out his intention to try the game. We reckon we could hazard at a guess at what game might be the UK No.1 next week…
For instance over night we hit 10 million species discovered in NMS… that's more than has been discovered on earth.

Will try out @NoMansSky this weekend. Maybe reality is just a series of nested simulations all the way down … https://t.co/DCMr1TVOdL
