Bungie opens Destiny Beta for all

PlayStation will hope so. The platform holder is heavily getting behind Destiny, with a bundle and a series of exclusive content.

The excitement behind Activision’s Destiny has really ramped up since E3, and the demand to get on its Beta has been huge.

Now Bungie is letting any gamer play the upcoming blaster/MMO/RPG…. whatever.

"The Beta has been eye-opening so far," said Bungie in a post. "Your missions have provided us with volumes of discoveries we can use to prepare for the launch of Destiny in September.

"Our work is not done. There is more we can learn. To make this happen, we need more Guardians to play. This is, above all else, a test.

"Today, at 4:00 PM PDT, we’re opening the Destiny Beta to anyone who wants to create a character and walk in their boots."

The title has been billed by Activision as its next $1bn franchise. It’s showing up in national newspapers, it’s topping all pre-order charts… could it end Watch Dog’s record and become the fastest selling new IP in history?
