BYOG 2012 winner Project Heera nominated for BAFTA award

NASSCOM and Indie Game Dev India BYOG 2012 winner Project Heera has been selected as one of the three nominees for the 2014 BAFTA Ones To Watch award.

Project Heera, the top-down stealth-action game, was created by Tanmay Chinchkar for BYOG 2012, and since winning the three-day sprint, the game has made it into the Dare to Be Digital 2013 competition, which is currently underway in Dundee, Scotland.

Chinchkar is now joined by Neeraj Shastry, Shashank Dhongde, Dhruv Dave and Shriram Srinivasan, and the group together forms Team Mazhlele.

Dare to Be Digital is an annual nine-week competition held at Abertay University. It is contested by five-member game development teams from around the world, comprised of students and fresh graduates.

Only games that make it to Dare to Be Digital are eligible to be nominated for the BAFTA Ones To Watch award, and Project Heera is one of only three games to receive the BAFTA nod from this year’s group of 15.

That group also includes Food Frisbees, the game from the second team at Dare to Be Digital 2013 – 5cross1, which is comprised of NSV Srikanth, N Srikant, Aditya Muley, Vaseem S, and Alex Grahame.
