Caffeine launches this week on PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Crowdfunded sci-fi horror game Caffeine will launch this week on PC and current-gen consoles, developer Incandescent Imaging has revealed.

The Unreal 4-powered game’s Steam page states it will release later today for Windows PC, with PS4 and Xbox One versions due out this week as well.

Caffeinewill arrive as an three-part episodic, with the other two episodes expected to arrive sometime down the road.

"The premise of Caffeine is that the earth’s population has run out of caffeine sources on Earth so massive space ships are built by the largest corporations to mine enough material from space to quench the thirst of the human race," creator Dylan Brown toldPCGamesN.

"You wake up alone on one of these ships as a young child – from there you set out to explore the large non-linear structure to find out what has happened to the crew and what the current situation is. The game uses simple exploration mechanics, simple environmental puzzles and a touch of horror."

A demo of the PC version is currently available on thestudio’s website.
