Call of Duty’s Jason West is no longer a Respawn employee

Jason West has reportedly long since departed developer Respawn Entertainment.

As if you needed reminding, Jason West and Vince Zampella were the co-founders of Infinity Ward and oversaw Call of Duty’s rise to global dominance.

However, the pair’s fame is more to do with their high-profile departure from IW and the subsequent legal tussle with Activision, in which the publisher accused the pair of cavorting with EA behind the scenes.

While that saga has subsequently settled out of court, West and Zampella left to form Respawn, signing a publishing agreement with Activision rivals EA in the process.

But Kotaku reports that West has long since departed the firm due to family issues”. He may have left as early as May 2012, just after their out of court settlement.

Respawn’s debut project is scheduled to be shown at E3.
