Capcom Cup prize pool to be crowd funded

The prize pool for the Capcom Cup will be partially crowd funded with in game Street Fighter V items.

At EVO Capcom announced the new Capcom Pro Tour Premier Package DLC for Street Fighter V, which includes a new stage and exclusive costumes. A percentage of each sale will go towards the final prize pool for the Capcom Cup, although the exact amount is yet to be announced.

The full DLC bundle costs $24.99, with the ring of destiny stage being available to purchase separately for $9.99. Each of the costumes will also be available on an individual basis for $5.99.

The Capcom Cup is the big end of season competition for the Capcom Pro Tour. Players from all over the world compete over the year to secure a spot at the Capcom Cup, with wins at events such as EVO granting automatic qualification.

Capcom also announced that they will not be making any major gameplay changes to Street Fighter V until the end of the current competitive season at the end of the year.

So far the Street Fighter V tournament at EVO has thrown up a few surprises, with Yusuke "Momochi" Momochi and Daigo Umehara both being knocked out early. The top eight of the competition is due to take place at 3am tonight, you can watch it on Twitch.
