Capcom to skip annual Captivate event

Capcom has confirmed it will take 2013 off from its annual Captivate event.

Responding to inquiries on Capcom's forums, the publisher's senior vice president Christian Svensson revealed that announcements have been scheduled around other events – or not around any event period.

"This year we're likely to be looking at announcements around other events or not at events at all," Svensson said. "So there isn't a Captivate planned this year."

Svensson added that Capcom still plans to attend this year's major industry events, but didn't go into specifics as to what we should expect.

Last year's Captivate event in Rome had Capcom showing off previews of DmC: Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 6, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, Lost Planet 3, and Dragon's Dogma; as well as the Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken.
