French publisher Focus Home Interactive took its first No.1 ever in the UK charts last week, with Dontnod’s Vampyr. Sales for Vampyr were up 234 per cent compared to Week One sales for The Surge, Deck13’s action-RPG published by Focus in May last year. Vampyr sold mainly on PS4, with 69 per cent of the copies shifted on Sony’s console against 30 per cent on Xbox One. GfK noted it’s the third new original IP to make it to the top of the charts this year so far (after Sea of Thieves and Detroit: Become Human).
Talking about Detroit, it lost two places to No.4 last week. Sales for the Quantic Dream title were down 46 per cent week-on-week, while another PS4 exclusive kept performing well: God of War gained one spot to No.3, with sales increasing 12 per cent week-on-week. Sony’s Days of Play discounts boosted the title’s performance, GfK explained.
Other titles performed well due to these promotions: Gran Turismo: Sport gained 20 spots to No.17 with sales increasing 107 per cent week-on-week, while Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition re-entered the charts at No.25 with a 124 per cent increase in sales week-on-week.
Meanwhile, FIFA 18 continued to sell strongly last week, after taking the top spot the week before. The free World Cup content continued to boost the title, which charted at No.2 with sales only down 27 per cent week-on-week.
Further down the charts, The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset entered the Top 40 for the first time due to its release on PS4 and Xbox One on June 5th, after releasing on PC at the end of May. It debuted at No.26.
Other new entries this week include Codemasters’ Onrush, which debuted at No.34, and Milestone’s MotoGP 18, which entered the charts at No.40.
