Counter Strike gambling streamer PhantomL0rd banned from Twitch

Less than a week after Twitch said it would take action against the streaming of Counter Strike gambling on its network, one leading streamer has been banned.

Kotaku reports that PhantomL0rd’s channel has been pulled. It now simply carries the message: The community has closed this channel due to terms of service violations.”

It’s not yet clear whether the ban is permanent or temporary.

PhantomL0rd himself hasn’t commented since the disappearance of his channel, but prior to its closure – and after Twitch’s statement – he published a video entitled ‘GambleL0rd: It’s All Over‘.

He later published a video where he suddenly returned to streaming League of Legends, the comments for which were full of accusations about illegitimate CS GO gambling activity linked to alleged links with gambling site CSGOWild.

This all follows on from the recent furore surrounding streamers TmarTn and ProSyndicate who appeared to produce videos promoting a Counter Strike skin lottery site that they founded, without disclosing their own personal interests. Valve eventually said it would attempt to block off such sites.
