Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy continues N.Sane run at No.1

Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy holds onto the top spot for the third week in a row, holding off several new entries to remain king of the Top Ten.

Crash ascended the charts again off the back of a multiplatform release which saw the game arrive on the Xbox One, Switch and PC.

Other new entries include a new LEGO title, LEGO The Incredibles, which performed okay, with solid sales across the PS4, Xbox One and Switch. There’s still time for this to spike in popularity as the movie finds its feet, as it just opened this weekend. However, The Incredibles is unlikely to find the same sort of success as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and with sales of even the LEGO games boasting mega licenses down, perhaps the days of the LEGO titles being a huge draw are at an end.

On the other hand, perhaps the secret to success could just be a new and exciting IP. Whatever it is, this LEGO title isn’t it.

Below this is Octopath Traveler, Square Enix’s newest JRPG for the Nintendo Switch. It’s sold well for a single platform release, outselling Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which re-enters the charts at No.4 after the Wii U game was polished up and re-released for Nintendo’s 3DS and Switch consoles. Most of the sales (93 per cent) were for the Switch SKU.

It’s worth noting that Grand Theft Auto V is absent yet again, and last week’s No.2 – Jurassic World: Evolution – has dropped to No.7

Y’know, why not just take a look at the physical chart (data courtesy of UKIE/GfK for the week ending July 14th.
