Deep Space Nine MMO on the way

A brand new free-to-play MMO based on the Deep Space Nine Star Trek universe will be released next summer, German publisher Gameforge has announced.

Gamasutra reports that the game, called Star Trek: Infinite Space, is being developed by indie studio Keen Games whose former titles include Dance Dance Revolution: Disney Channel Edition, What’s Cooking? With Jamie Oliver and G-Force.

Also working on the game as consultant is Michael Okuda, an art supervisor from the TV series, and Denise Okuda, who is an established Star Trek video supervisor.

Bringing Keen Games on board to develop Star Trek: Infinite Space was an easy decision to make as keen has a strong history of producing outstanding titles,” Gameforge’s publishing VP Ralf Adam stated.

Our production team will work closely with keen games to bring the vision we have for Star Trek: Infinite Space to fruition.”

Gameforge currently has a second un-named Star Trek title in the works that is being worked on by a Californian developer.
