Entertainment giant Disney has ramped up its charity work by bringing games to patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The publisher teamed up with Nintendo last week (Thursday, November 25th) to take Wiis and copies of Epic Mickey to sick children.
It’s part of a company-wide effort from Disney which has already committed to raise 10m in aid of London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
The money will go towards a redevelopment programme which includes a planned Disney-inspired communal area for children and families.
We are always looking at ways in which we can bring some magic to the patients and their families,” said Disney’s head of charitable programmes Laura Scott.
Disney is able to touch children’s lives directly, and we hope that by giving these children an opportunity to enjoy the Epic Mickey gaming session we can brighten their lives at a difficult time.
Our goal of 10m for the hospital’s redevelopment programme makes this the largest Walt Disney charitable partnership outside the US.”
Several journalists also attended the event.
