Disney pulls Tiny Death Star without telling developer Nimblebit

Two Star Wars games have been removed from both the Apple App Store and Google Play without any warning.

Pocket Gamer reports that both Nimblebit’s Tiny Death Star and Disney Mobile’s Star Wars Assault Team have vanished. They were available for 11 and five months respectively.

The site was told by a source that the removals are permanent and are designed to allow Disney to focus on higher-priority titles like the recently released Star Wars Commander.

The move is a big blow to Nimblebit, with co-founder Ian Marsh who says he was not consulted before the game’s removal.

He added that Tiny Death Star was "a significant source of revenue for us, so it stings that much more" and that his assumption is they don’t feel it is worth it to maintain the game any longer".
